Dayme I'm tired. Things are going better with my brother and the family. Frankly, I'm glad that things were resolved now than have them find out at a later time and point. My ride's fixed and running though I'm not sure for how long simply. Haha. Really, Alex does know how to fix motors....on cars! Okay, enough of this "write the journal" crap. I'm out to lunch with Em. Lates.

It's drop dead gorgeous outside. People are on the main green playing Frisbee and volleyball. In a little while I'm going out with Alan to go check out some houses for the summer. Know what?? I'll be at Brown after all doing research on double walled microcells, taking the EMT course, and Physics 4. Too bad I can't go home but then again, there's a boat load of problems there too. Right now my main goal is remedy that 44 on the last orgo exam. SEAM is going.....kinda. Everybody's pissed because Eddy is just putzing around and not being helpful. We're in the process of talking to the school board to try and figure it out right now. Hope things fix themselves in the coming weeks.

Hey! It's Saturday and I have EMS in a few hours but I just got back from watching Top Gun at Lim's place. Making this a nightly thing is NOT going to help me get my sleep habits straight.

School's been interesting this semester. I'm not quite sure how I am so far behind in school but it's happened. Well, at least SEAM is going well. We have a new coordinator, a woman named Palin N____________. haha. I have no clue what her last name is but it's all good because she thinks my name is Kevin. So there. =D

Valentine's Day is just around the corner! Sorry for having not updated in so long but I've been out and around. School's tough this year and I have to look good for med school--meaning A's in science classes would be nice for a change. You know, maybe I should have entertained the idea of a BA in History or English a bit longer but now it's too late. If anything though, it has helped me choose a path.

You know, I think all I needed after the physio test, I just needed to get away. Not that I screwed it up as anticipated but just to make sure that life goes on even during finals week. Thanks guys. Peace.

Durnit. I STILL have english assignments due! ARGGGGG. Alright, here's the plan, bust out an all nighter and start studying for BI80--which is tomorrow and then move on to CH33 which is Thursday. After that, write a good paper and head on home. =)

Stressed with lots of work. Got three finals in two days....woo hoo!!!

>>Friday, November 30, 2001
Well, it's Friday again. What can I say, rock on.

>>Thursday, November 29, 2001
I finished posting most of the pictures for the bios on the SEAM website. The funniest thing is that it'll probably serve as an incentive for the mentors to send me updated pics. LOL.

>>Friday, November 23, 2001
Well, it's Friday--three days since school's let out and I still haven't started to get working yet. The plus though is that I've mastered the skill of making really really good eggs. I mean, not the whimpy kind that tastes alright, but I mean the delicious type that you can eat as a meal in-it-of-itself. To the ppl in Barbour, woo hoo~ Food rocks! Okay, I'm off to play some more now... Oh, one last thing. Wondering where I've been? Well, I'm designing a website for SEAM, the program I work for. The address is at http://come.to/SEAM so drop by.

Two days till Thanksgiving break. Wait, I'm not going home so it really doesn't matter right? Well, not really. I'm still hoping to have a good time. =]

>>Sunday, November 18, 2001
The last two days have been amazing. I think they were the most special that I've had all year.....maybe even all last year too. Actually, what made it better is that I'm mistaken, it all took place today since the meteor shower was from 4 till 6:30 AM and the SEAM dinner was from 3 till 7. Anyway, ask me about it and I'll porbably rave about. Love to all the peope who spent those times with me. To the future, both mine's and the kids.

>>Friday, November 16, 2001
It's Friday, can life can get bettter? Well yeah, but right now I just need more time in the day...sounds a lot like the summer actually. Anyway, the Thanksgiving dinner is getting smoothed out because other people are helping to plan it out. Silly but we should have tried to do this in the first place because it saves the coordinators time and makes the mentors feel more included in the process. Either way, the kids win because they get fed and hopefully get a look around Brown, or the greater Providence community in general. If only I had a mentor as a kid...or least knew someone as cool as me...LOL.

Shitz. This week sucks. The cars are all down and we actually had to cancel going down to Bridgham today merely because of a lack of transportation. Moreover, I think things that things in general at SEAM are going to get a lot harder. Susan's thinking about quitting so the logistics is going to be pain. Besides, just in terms of the leadership that she provides--kind that the Swearer Center needs--will be missing. Needless to say, I'll try to convince her otherwise but I guess that if she needs downtime, she deserves it. The dedication she has shown the kids is incredible and I'm sure that the others mentors feel the same way. If she does decide to leave, it'll be a tremendous loss. =(

>>Tuesday, November 13, 2001
I think I'm beginning to see the fruits borne from mentoring. It's the little things that I notice that make all the difference. I mean, I guess the other mentors can't see either because they haven't placed their heart into it or because they simply haven't spent enough time with the kids but it's definitely more rewarding this way. Anyway, I plan to spend this Thanksgiving with the SEAM kids. Right now, we have a dinner planned this Sunday at the Swearer Center. Susan has also taken the liberty to invite Ing Song, Carol, and Sarath too--all old coordinators for the program. To remember this occassion, we are going to video-cam it; the hope is that future coordinators don't forget the family building that is part of this program. Peace.

Today is just a weird day. I mean, I woke up at 6:00 to study but went back to sleep at 8:00, missing two classes. The next time I woke up, I found out that another plane crashed and spent a while on the phones calling home. I finally stumbled off to class and began my day in a hazy, oh-i really-don't-get-it kind of look my eyes. Well, whatever, right now I'm at RISD chilling with friends so I guess I'll see you Brown folks in a little while. Outz.

>>Sunday, November 11, 2001
Today was the kickoff for the South East Asian Week, otherwise known as Legends of the SEA. SEAM set up a table with information and descriptions of the program. Plus, we offered two dumplings for a dollar--pulling in a net profit of about $60. Not bad considering it only took a few hours and $7.00 to make the products at Susan's place. Yup yup. On the sides note, Legends was a good shows although some of the dances could have used a little more work. All in all, it was an enjoyable show and I got to see my friends on stage.

>>Friday, November 9, 2001
Sometimes you just need to scrap relationships and start fresh. I mean, there reaches a point where it's pointless to keep them anymore because it only causes pain, which is actually funny word to use in this case. But anyway, life's a bitch so I guess we just have to deal. Alright, I'm headed out to Buxton so don't expect me back anytime soon. Chill.

>>Thursday, November 8, 2001
Things are pretty tough right now. I think I'm definitely going to have to de-stress this weekend and let all hell break loose. Should be interesting. * On a lighter note, I guess that getting a "B" in physiology is okay. I mean, if it corresponds to the amount of schoolwork I did for that class then it's surprising that I am even at an ivy league. This is ironic because the ivy's were originally just a bunch of football universities. At which point, America decided it should represent academic superiority is beyond me but then again I'm just another Asian student, right? Along the same line, shout outs to Lim who managed to strip for an audience of 300 or so at the Model Asian Convocation yesterday. LOL. He should have listened and torn up his shirt more. Haha, I think he knows what I'm referring to. Anyway, the show was great and Ian not only won, but also got his picture in the first page of the Herald.

CH33 is not that bad except for the tests, right? I mean, a 55 isn't bad. Okay, who am I kidding? I suck at this subject and I still need to continue taking it for next year.

Monsters, Inc. was a great movie! Dinner wasn't half bad either. LOL.

The Beetlejuice movie was weird. Shrinking heads?? Enough said. Well, it was fun in a juvenile way and now I have to work tomorrow. Sad, hunh? Two weeks in a row, what is college all about anyway?

>>Saturday, October 20, 2001
Errr...writing a thesis on the dynastic struggle between civil and martial power is going to take some work..especially if it is due in two day...

>>Thursday, October 18, 2001
This year school's definitely harder. With 5 courses, two pet fish, and a mentoring job, I think stephen needs a vacation. Don't you think so? Well, come steal him away this weekend so he doesn't end up cracking. Don't you think so? On the side note, a friend helped me name my two fish: Romeo and Juliet. This is despite the fact that I don't know that they are boy and girl....

>>Sunday, Ocober 14, 2001
It's Ruth's big day! Go down to the main green at 2:00 to welcome what CNN called "the best college president."

SEAM at Bridgham leads to football at RISD leads to SEAM at 11:00? Well, I guess every dog has its day.

Stephen retracts all previous statements. Actually, I'm screwed. I've got on Tuesday: 1 mini quiz in bio 19, 1 physiology test, 1 4-hour chem lab, 1 chem test, and an english essay (plus SEAM so I'll be gone all weekend!) Screwed? Yes.

>>Monday, September 24, 2001
It's a new week so I'm ready to rock this school~ Of course, it could always fall flat on its face--like last week. Well, here's good news: I'm the new coordinator for SEAM. So if you're interested, give me a ring at 7-6773.

>>Saturday, September 22, 2001
So now the Stuy kids are headed to Tech. Sounds like fun, no? Well, the only problem is they have classes from 11:00 to 6:00. But it's a small price to pay to have our school serve as a triage center. Just added two new pages: "What Chinese People Do" and "How You Sleep."

Here's a letter to the terrorists of the world.

>>Monday, September 17, 2001
Don't ask me how but it takes me two weeks of class to realize that I'm reading the wrong text...go figure. God Durnnit, I was trying to figure out why the professor didn't mentioned g-proteins EVER in class yet there the topic of choice for the first few chapters....
